Co-op Bank, Optiven & Everstrong Partner for Turnkey Housing

Co-operative Bank, in collaboration with Optiven Limited and Everstrong Maskani LLP, has unveiled a strategic partnership that integrates land acquisition, construction, and financing into one seamless housing solution for customers.
This innovative collaboration aims to address the common challenges faced by Kenyans who build their homes incrementally—a process often plagued by delays, stalled construction, and substandard workmanship due to fragmented planning and lack of financial oversight.
The partnership establishes a unified ecosystem that enables customers to access land, financing, and construction services in a coordinated manner, anchored by Co-operative Bank’s tailored mortgage financing solutions.
“This partnership allows us to bring financing directly into a trusted, end-to-end ecosystem where land, lending, and construction are seamlessly linked,” said Japheth Kahindi Ponda, Head of Mortgage Finance at Co-operative Bank.
“As one of Kenya’s largest banks, serving over 9 million customers, our role is to provide affordable credit and walk with clients all the way to the front door of their finished homes,” he added.
Dr. George Wachiuri, CEO of Optiven Limited, emphasized the significance of the partnership in solving long-standing customer pain points:
“For far too long, many Kenyans have struggled with the disconnect between buying land and building a home. We’ve seen investors stuck for years, unsure of where to begin or whom to trust. This partnership brings a solution to that struggle. By integrating the process, we are giving every customer a clear, safe, and professionally managed path to home ownership.”
To ensure transparency and quality control, Co-operative Bank’s technical team will assess the progression of each project step by step. Regular site inspections will be conducted by the bank’s technical experts to verify completed construction milestones before authorising disbursement of funds to Everstrong Maskani.
Optiven Limited will provide customers with high-quality land options across its prime developments, while Everstrong Maskani LLP will deliver professional and certified construction services. Both partners will operate within the Co-operative Bank’s integrated framework to ensure a seamless and trustworthy customer experience.
“We are proud to partner with trusted institutions like Optiven Limited and Co-operative Bank to deliver homes that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and design,” said Henry Kyanda, Managing Partner at Everstrong Maskani LLP.
“Through our MaskaniBora turnkey program, we walk with each customer from concept to keys, offering peace of mind, structural integrity, and professional service at every step.”
The bank’s integrated housing solution will initially serve clients in Optiven developments including Amani Ridge in Kiambu, Achievers Paradise in Kimuka, Ngong, and Success Gardens and Happy Gardens in Kitengela. The three-year partnership will include structured performance reviews and continuous service improvement.
Customers can access the mortgage solution at any Co-operative Bank branch nationwide. Each client will sign a direct construction agreement with Everstrong Maskani while maintaining their primary relationship with the bank for financing and project oversight.
This partnership marks a major milestone in simplifying home ownership in Kenya and empowering more Kenyans to realize their dream of owning quality homes through a transparent, structured, and affordable process.
